1. My Billion Dollar Mistake

Hiten Shah was the most recent guest on the CareerHQ podcast. In the episode, he told me about this article. I'd read it years ago, but reread it. It's a powerful, revealing and completely transparent post—it's very much worth ~10 minutes of your time.

We were ahead of the market by 3 years. Yes, 3 full years. In 2010, we had moved the entire analytics category to the point that competitors wouldn’t close the gap until 2013.
We had a billion dollar opportunity sitting right in front of us. Without a shred of doubt, I believe we could have turned KISSmetrics into a billion dollar startup. It was ours to lose.
That’s exactly what we did, we lost it.

2. Million-Dollar, One-Person Businesses

This is a recent issue of the Trends.vc newsletter (it's pretty good). This one focuses on individuals who have built 7-figure businesses.

3. Startups Need Fewer Visionaries and More Mechanics

I nodded along to this entire post.

If I’m sick, I’m going to a doctor — not a person who works with a lot of doctors, and certainly not a “doctor enthusiast.”

4. Tweet of the Week

Have a great weekend!
