Hey Everyone,
Hope you're having a great week. Here are a few things I've been reading, writing and pondering lately. Enjoy!

A New Book from Clearbit: From IC to Leader
My friends at Clearbit are in the process of releasing another great ebook. In each of the next few issues, I'll feature a snippet from one of the chapters. This one is from James Winter, VP of Marketing at Brandfolder. I couldn't agree more with this advice:
"Waiting to be promoted is a huge waste of time," he says. "Every data point on salary agrees with that."
Read his chapter here and check out the ebook here.
1. Take Charge, Be a Voice of Reason and Keep Publishing
Here's my best advice on content marketing during a crisis like this one:
Keyword volume will probably drop, your traffic may already be trending down, and your CAC will almost certainly increase. I expect volatility in every metric that marketers rely on. Forget that stuff right now. Your job is to help others. Content happens to be an amazing way to reach a lot of people for minimal cost. Take charge, be a voice of reason, and put your best work out there.
2. How to Lead From a Non-Leadership Role
As I mentioned last week, tomorrow's leaders are being forged as we speak. I love this article because it details ways for anyone to lead, regardless of title.
It’s always easy to shrug off responsibility if it’s not part of your job description. But if you have leadership aspirations, you can’t be limited by the restrictions of your title.
To prove yourself, you’ll need to make an impact in your team. You have to set an example, facilitate personal success for peers, and contribute to permanent positive changes in the structure of your organization.
If you can do that, then the sky’s the limit.
3. How to Accept a Compliment — Even if It’s From Yourself
I love this article because I'm terrible at accepting compliments and am often too hard on myself. I'm guessing I'm not alone here.
“Many times our strengths come so naturally to us that we don’t realize their value,” she said, which is why compliments can be rich sources of information.
Have a great weekend!
