1. How to Make $100,000/Year Freelancing

Here's my advice on earning six figures as a freelancer. My best advice? Don't quit your day job and use the extra money to supplement your income.

Here’s the least sexy advice anyone’s ever given about freelancing. If you want to make a $100,000 per year, consider using your salary to pad the numbers. Let’s look at some math.

Let’s say you make $60,000 per year at a full-time job. Adding $40,000 in freelance income gets you to six figures. It’s easier in that you have only have to cover 40% of it, but it’s harder since you’ll have less time to do it.

$40,000 works out to $3,333 per month. If you bill at $100/hour, that’s 33 hours per month, or just over eight hours per week.

2. New Nutrition Study Changes Nothing

Nutrition is needlessly complicated. Take this concept and apply it to just about anything else: work, fitness, productivity, etc. You already know what to do—don't let the endless cycle of advice and news complicate it.

Eating in ways that are good for our bodies isn’t conceptually complicated. It’s complicated by money and time and access—but eating based on scientific findings is not. Though recently you might have heard otherwise. There is new news about dietary health, and that news is more important than the typical weekly nutrition news. But it doesn’t upend conventional wisdom.

3. Wrath of the Khans

This has been recommended to me by at least five people and I can't believe I waited so long to listen. This is some of Dan Carlin's (podcaster, creator of Hardcore History) best work. It's $9.99 and worth every penny. (This is not paid or affiliate link.)

If for no other reason, check it out to see a master at work.

4. Tweet of the Week
