A frustrating quirk in the human brain

It's almost March. How many people do you think are still hanging onto their New Year's Resolutions?

Resolutions are a running joke in our society. Everyone makes them yet no one sticks to them. What an interesting and pointless trend.

I found a line in a Ramit Sethi article about resolutions that blew my mind:

In an interesting quirk of human behavior, we would rather continue doing something that doesn’t work rather than try something new that COULD work — but also could fail.

Amazing. Confusing. Completely ridiculous.

Are we that afraid of failure? Or are we just lazy? Ramit dives deep in this one.
